Vanilla perfume - do girls still wear it? (1 Viewer)

I'm working on a story about growing up in the 70's and I remember a lot of the teenaged and early 20-something girls that I knew (mostlyly hippie babysitters from the Evergreen State College) wore vanilla as perfume. Ever since then I get a little swoony over the smell of vanilla (Hey, I had me some hot babysitters!!).

Just wondering if it was a 70's thing, a hippie thing (sure beats Patchoulli), or if still goes on.

Vanilla, as in vanilla extract, like the stuff you bake with?

Guess I'm too young to know about that 70's hippie thing. I do wear perfume that is scented like vanilla, though.

I thought there was a perfume called vanilla fields, but it was a real perfume, not pure vanilla extract.

Just go to any strip club and youll find girls smelling like Vanilla, Pear, etc. etc.!!!

Yes, there are a lot of girls who still wear this. I think they wear the vanilla perfume from Body Shop.

Yup, Vanilla Fields is the one I wear. I also have 3-4 various vanilla scented products from Bath and Body Works. Can you tell I like vanilla?

Yup! I know a few girls who wear the Body Shop vanilla scent. Actually, the Body Shop stopped producing one of their vanilla products a couple of years ago, and the bottles were in high demand on eBay.

Leila, I love vanilla scents, too. Traditional perfume-y scents and flowery scents make me sneeze, so the Bath-and-Body-Works-type fruit (etc.) scents have been really nice for me. Vanilla is my absolute favorite, though.
My husband loves it on me, too. The running joke is that he only likes it because it makes me smell like a tasty dessert.

I've never heard of wearing the actual Vanilla extract as a cologne. I wear the Vanilla perfume from Victoria's Secret.

Is it okay for a guy to smell like Vanilla? I wash my hair with a shampoo with Vanilla extract in it and all day, I can smell that lovely scent on me.
