My old JVC doesn't seem like its worth repairing. What TV's would you guys recommend that are around 27" that wont set me back too much?

I believe Toshiba has flatscreen models with component inputs in that size for around $500. The Sony WEGA can be had for that price point, as well, and has a menu-selectable 16:9 mode. And, of course, JVC has several nice models under $500, my favorite of which is the D-series line, which can be tweaked to provide a very nice image.

I've heard you can find the Samsung 27" HDTV for around $599 at Costco.

It was $599 at the local best buy for the last few weeks as well....still there at mine....worth a look if that is in the price range....

Also noticed these deals in projection TVs...

    ABC - 46" RCA projection $699
    BB - 55" Magnovox $899
