    Universal City, Calif., February 25, 2003 ---- The year's most honored film, the lush romantic drama Far from Heaven - nominated for four Academy Awards(r) including Best Actress (Julianne Moore), Best Original Screenplay (Todd
    Haynes), Best Original Score (Elmer Bernstein) and Best Cinematography (Edward Lachman, ASC) - comes to DVD for a $26.98 suggested retail price ($19.95 M.A.P) and VHS rental on April 1, 2003. Order close for the DVD is
    February 25 and for the VHS is March 11.

    Far from Heaven, written and directed by Todd Haynes, has also been nominated for five Independent Spirit Awards including Best Feature, Best Director (Todd Haynes), Best Female Lead (Julianne Moore), Best Supporting Male
    (Dennis Quaid) and Best Cinematography; and two Screen Actors Guild Awards including Best Actress (Julianne Moore) and Best Supporting Actor (Dennis Quaid).

    Far from Heaven was voted Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor (Dennis Quaid), and Best Cinematography by both the New York Film Critics Circle and the Chicago Film Critics Association.

    Julianne Moore's affecting, emotionally complex performance as a model wife and mother whose "perfect" world is shattered by a shocking discovery and forbidden love, also garnered Best Actress awards from the Chicago Film

    The pre-order close dates are the dates that retailers must have their orders placed in order to guarantee on-time delivery of the title. It also lets the studios know how many units to manufacture in time for release date.
