A little surprised they're not holding this for next holiday season. Who wants to buy a Christmas movie in mid-summer?

My guess that studios want to release stuff, and announce stuff while it’s still in the public’s consciousness.

Malcolm, you are right. Used to be a time when one would have to wait almost a year for a holiday film as the studios waited until the following Christmas to release them.

I think your guess is spot on!

Possibly, but it seems like July or November would make little difference. Most will have forgotten about it by July, too, unless that date is just a made-up placeholder and it's coming out sooner.

I’m sure that’s it. The movie is already available for digital rental and purchase. A disc won’t be far behind.

I bought this digitally on 4K on Vudu back a couple days before Christmas. Though I sure would love those special feature’s. Maybe I’ll buy the disc when the price goes down so I can partake.
