I wish the studio would provide some details about this "4K remaster." Is it actually remastered since the last 4K edition, or are they considering that to also be the same "4K remaster"?

Shaun of the Dead was originally a 2K DI movie. The last disc was upconverted from that. Is there any chance they've gone back to the underlying film elements to construct a new 4K DI? Or did they just slap Dolby Vision onto the last 4K upscale and call it "remastered"? (Failing clarification, I will expect the latter.)

Very likely the latter, which takes all of a few clicks and couple hours, and can now be done by anyone with the free tools available on GitHub and Dolby’s website.

On the other hand, that SteelBook design is very tempting...

On the other, other hand, I have the three-pack edition of the Cornetto Trilogy, so...

Nobody else got theirs yet? The Atmos soundtrack is a big step-up from the previous DTS:X soundtrack. Just ran through the first 20 minutes - the picture doesn't look radically different, although it's supposed to be a 4K remaster from the original negative. I'll have to give it a more in-depth eyeballing tomorrow.

Interesting, this one. Some scenes look very much better projected on the remastered 4K UHD, others - no big difference. But the flesh tones all look better on the remastered one. This new version will be the one I'll be watching in future.

It was great fun revisiting Edgar Wright's remarkable break-out film, especially after the two first Romero zombie classics are available, in gorgeous 4K versions.

Old 4K version first:
