Just finished the new documentary Jaws @50. It was awesome.

Filled with interviews from celebrities, directors cast and crew. It was fascinating. I thought I knew pretty much everything about Jaws but I was wrong.

Spielberg takes center stage here and you can tell how proud he is of this film. You can see the emotion in his eyes.

Sadly missing is Richard Dreyfuss but not surprising considering the resentment he feels toward Spielberg and company for, in his words, perpetuating the myth that he and Shaw hated each other and fought all the time.

So much footage I had never seen before. And that’s impressive considering how many docs there are on Jaws.

A high quality documentary and the best one yet.

It will be good to see a new documentary with some new info given that the making of it has been discussed so many times. Would love to get to the facts behind the Indianapolis speech. Spielberg says Sackler pit a mention in his draft and that it was John Milieus who wrote it and that Shaw condensed it down for his performance. Gottlieb has said Milieus had nothing to do with the speech and that it was all Shaw.

Spielberg discusses this in the new documentary.

Are the documentaries new to this 4K/UHD release? I'm assuming the new documentary is but what about the older one?

The new documentary is on its own disc. The older documentaries are included as extras on the same discs issued before. So this set is identical to the previously released 4K set with the addition of the blu ray containing the new documentary.

Atrocious art.. Too busy.
I haven't upgraded to 4k for this film. Do you think it's worth it?
I have just purchased the 4k 50th anniversary edition of Jaws and while I am happy with the quality it isn't the print of the film I saw in the cinema here in the UK in 1975 it supposedly contain all the deleted scenes in the bonus features but doesn't show the crabs coming out of the mouth of the girl's remains who was the first victim of the stark attacks which I remember quite vividly due to the graphic nature of the scene and being quite young at the time. So I am very disappointed that this new 4k remaster is not basically the film I saw 50 years ago. Does anyone have any information thanks.

If the new doc it’s own disc, does this mean that the movie UHD disc is exactly the same as the one that was released a couple of years back?

That would be my guess. I think the previous UHD looks good.
