3D conversions when done right can be quite impressive.

The Jurassic Park conversion on BD is one of the best there is.

The conversion on TITANIC is amazing as well.

However, Cameron invested quite a bit of money and elbow grease into that effort

New Documentary. Double dipping. I have Jaws in every format from Super 8 Sound up to 4K. I wish Universal would release the 3D Jaws in iTunes it would look spectacular on the Vision Pro.

Robert, I also owned the Universal 8 Super 8mm edition. Mine was a two-400' release for a total of about 35 minutes, and...it was letterboxed (roughly 2:1)! Same as yours? They letterboxed a bunch of their big guns, including THE STING, THE HINDENBERG, and others. Fun days, but incredibly expensive ones. Many younger collectors these days have no idea how good they have it in the mass-produced disc days.

The 3D conversion for Top Gun was also done very well and is a lot of fun.

Yes I still have the two 400 feet reel version as well as the prior 200 ft version. I also have Saturday Night Fever the entire feature spread across 7 or 8 400 ft reels. Also many other abridged super 8 sound film versions. Not sure what to do with all of these.

I don't think this will be the last physical media release for Jaws. The last 4k transfer maybe, but it will continue to be repackaged until they don't sell shiny discs anymore. It's one of those titles, like Star Wars, that will continue to be re-released over the years.

Steelbook went from $35 to $49.

I'm not sure if these drop in price first week of release or not.
$50 is way too much for a title I already own....I just wanted the steelbook.

That's mostly what they're charging you for at this point. If it was a standard case release, it would probably be closer to $20.
Had it not been offered at $35 initially, I wouldn’t have thought about it at all. Just curious as to why the sudden price jump. Most recent steelbooks I bought have all been in the $35 range including the Clint Eastwood films from WB.

Another here that would have dipped again (I've lost count of how many times I've bought this film) if they'd included the 3D version. Without it, I'll pass.
Same. Already have the terrific UHD. Maybe Uni is holding back the 3-D conversion as a theatrical carrot!

This Combo Pack features the never-before-seen documentary, JAWS @ 50: THE DEFINITIVE INSIDE STORY, a brand-new look at the making and legacy of the film directed by Laurent Bouzereau and from National Geographic, in partnership with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Documentaries, Nedland Media, and Wendy Benchley.
And it'll be streaming in July.
