This is an unofficial poll to determine the height of respondents surround right and left speakers.

IMPORTANT NOTE! : THE HEIGHT MEASUREMENT SHOULD BE DETERMINED BY MEASURING FROM THE FLOOR TO THE TWEETER.

    Thanks for your participation.

Your height measurement should be to the tweeter height. Not all speaker boxes are the same size. [IMG]

My ears are at about 35" from the floor.

The tweeters on all my surrounds and rears are at an identical 53" from the floor. 18" difference. (I don't personally subscribe to the "2 - 3 ft above ear level" guideline.)

But for kicks, the speakers bases are all 38.5" from the floor.

(Surrounds are 7 ft away, and rears are 4.5 ft away. I'll leave the trig up to you. [IMG] )

It just stupidly occurred to me, that the rears maybe shouldn't be at the same height as the surrounds, but at the same angle. Hmmm...

    There's a POLLS area...

What Kevin said too; you should measure to the tweeter.

I have my surrounds stand mounted at ear level when seated and roughly the same as my mains. That would put the tweeters about 34".

    Main listening area = fronts at 28" but will be a little higher eventually. Center is 59" and surrounds 35". Secondary area = F @ 21", C @ 25" and S @ 53".
