    I was wondering when they'd have this up. There are articles dating back to May of 1981.

    There aren't any mentions of this (that I could find).

    I saw a listing of the first mention of CD's in 1982. First mention of Madonna, etc.

    Really cool stuff.

    Google bought out Dejanews, so I presume they got all the archived data too from them too. Not sure when did Dejanews.com started but my Netscape bookmark still has the MyDejanews title on it...

    Man, I am just completely engrossed in this archive. lots of good stuff here. I searched for my name in the archive and the earliest post I found was dated March 24th, 1995. It's a discussion about which actors might be in the Star Wars prequels. [​IMG]
    By the way, the earliest mention of Star Wars that I could find was this:

    A few months ago they had a plea on their home page for people that had some of the old Usenet archive cd's to let them copy the postings into the Google archive. I suppose they found them.

    I'd buy some of those cd's too.
