    Hi there,
Does anyone here have any experience with the Instant DVD ?
I'm looking for something that would offer excellent encoding quality in both MPEG-1 (for VCDs, which I'm producing now) and MPEG-2 (for DVDs, which I don't "do" yet)
I hear some people have complained about the fact that the MPEG-2 encoding might still be buggy for times that exceed 45 minutes, but strangely, nobody mentions the VCD quality.
So I'm wondering if you guys might have extra details.
    Thanks.

Don't touch it. You don't want any on-the-fly MPEG-2 encoder that runs under about $2000

You're much better off capturing to another format and running a software encoder. MPEG is not something to be done on the fly, it needs coaxing and love
