According to a recent USA Today entertainment roundup by Mike Snider some of you lucky dogs are going to get a chance to see Shawshank Redemption on the big screen!

I'm currently querying to see if there are similar plans for Canada.

Despite seeing this, what, maybe a couple of dozen times on DVD, cable, etc. I'm going to try and make one of the LA shows. [IMG]

I saw this last year here in Boston on the big screen. The problem was though they said they had an extremely hard time finding a good print of the movie, due to the very short run in the theaters, so the transfer was pretty bad. That and the fact that it was 12:15 am when they finally started the movie, nothing like a 2 1/2 + hour movie at 12:15 am. That being said, I loved it and definitly worth seeing on the big screen and will go see it again.

We might have a shot at getting it here in the 'Burgh, according to my local theater. I say email Warner Bros. and let 'em know you're interested in seeing it; maybe they'll expand the release.

I hope this comes to the Seattle area, too! I loved it on DVD, and I would definitely see it on the big screen! [IMG]
