I have a friend in Nepal who grows weary of civil war and strife and is inquiring about immigrating to the U.S. He is educated, posses a BA in Business Management, completed one year of his MBA, and has background in C, C++, HTML, and DHTML.

How best should I advise him to seek a work visa or begin the immigration process as soon as possible?

I have scanned the U.S. Embassy for Nepal's site as well as the State Department to no luck... please help...

    Thanks

Give www.ins.gov a try. Hopefully, you can find something of value (it's the US's Immigration and Naturalization site).

More specifically, click on the following:
    VISA's
and scroll down to Workers with Extraordinary Abilities. Good luck.

And finally, seek out 1st-hand accounts from Indian com/sci professionals...I believe India exports the greatest number of com sci professionals to the US. They should possess a wealth of info on legally gaining entry/work visas.
