I have a Pioneer Plasma Pro-1130HD and Yamaha RX-V2600. My next purchase is going to be a DVD player. The Denon DVD-2910 comes highly rated, would it be overkill? Since my receiver upscales, does it make any sense to get a DVD player like the Denon that also upscales? If it doesn't what player do you recommend?

    Thanks

    Don

I actually plan on the same setup - receiver first, DVD player later - but it would only be overkill if you try to upscale using both machines (actually, this would probably not look good). The 2910 has the superior upscaler, so you would be better off using it to do your upscaling and then simply passing the signal through the 2600 and on to your display, all via HDMI.
