I currently own the Denon DVD 2200. Yesterday I was told that I would obtain superior video from a new generation low price DVD player with up-scaling capability.

    Comments and opinions please.

What kind of display are you using? On a fixed pixel display, maybe a slight improvement, depending on the player. On a RPCRT type display, doubtful.

Mort (who would hang on to the 2200 and wait for HD-DVD)

I would not go to an upconverter...most of them exhibit Macroblocking...and too be honest the difference is barely there on my Toshiba DLP....dont get me wrong the player looks great....but not because its upscaling(which is not because 480 actually looks better on my DLP) but because it is a good player.
