Hi there, i am planing to upgrade my home entertainment system, at the moment i have
a Sony STR-DE135 and Proson Twin 2010 SA (se links below)

    http://se.pricerunner.com/sound-and-...158724/details

I will NOT keep the sony reciver :p, just giving you a hum about what i have now =)

I am thinking of replacing the sony receiver with a Yamaha RX-V650.

    http://www.fyndborsen.se/?sida=produ...1Prodnr%3D5859
    Price in USD: 403,71

What makes me think twice about this receiver is that i have read a couple reviews and people have complained about
bad bass, and people have also said that Yamaha have a problem of running big speakers... What do you think?

The new speakers i am thinking of buying is these:
    http://www.fyndborsen.se/?sida=produ...1Prodnr%3D4917
    Price in USD: 164,01

    http://www.fyndborsen.se/?sida=produ...1Prodnr%3D4916
    Price in USD: 239,70

At the moment the exchange course is:
    1 USD = 7,70 SEK
(so if you have vacation, go here ^^)

Sorry that the URL's is in Swedish, but i think you will understand most of it anyway =)

    All comments is appreciated.

I use Yamaha AV units and have never had a hard time driving any speakers (8ohm {and I have driven OHM* 6ohm speakers)). It seems your models are a tad different then what they sell over here in the US. I will also add I have no issues with bass with any of my recievers. Yamaha tends to be a bit more on the "bright" side as some say...but I happen to like the Yamaha sound. As far as Yamaha speakers go- Ive never been a fan. They may be a different animal then what I'm used to- seeing from the sight...so you may take that comment with a grain of salt.
Best idea- is to go listen too as much as you can an make your decision bassed on what you hear and like. Your equipement choices are solid...but what I like in sound..you may not like

    good luck
    Thomas.

yeah, i have heard that the sound is a little more clean with Yamaha. But that is mostly good =)

I will check in the local stores if i can test listen, dunno where "fyndtorget" is located, i think it's not more than couple of miles away =)

    thanks for the help!

I dont know about others...but shopping for new audio equipment is half the fun of it. Its like a big game hunt- Ya never know what ya might kill and bring home- just too have the wife give you that "disgust" look- and tell ya to go clean it out back! hehe that kinda fun [IMG]

    Tommie...

I believe you are in the same situation as many of us are, in wanting to upgrade our systems to the best it can be within a certain comfortable price range.

I have heard a lot of positive comments about the Outlaw 990 and their new 7125 amp.

Outlaw is saying if you order a Model 990/Model 7125 combo before Midnight, July 31, 2005, you will pay $1,899, a $200 discount over the separate pricing. All orders placed on or after August 1st will still get a $100 discount with the final package price set at $1,999. Compare the 7x125 watt power, flexibility and overall performance of this combination to any comparably priced set of separates or any receiver in this price range - or even at higher prices!

As you are aware...many others say ...WAIT...because,
the new generation processors that are due out in mid-2006 will handle HDMI, DA+, DTS+YD" and a lot of other improvements...

I have not heard the Outlaw 990... I share this from feedback I have read.... just something for you to consider.

However... for me, the best test, are my own ears... audition as many combinations as you can and you make the right decision for yourself.....Good luck....

Like matt said... the budget less than half of that :

    The budget: 7 000 SEK = 909 USD

The change course: 1 USD = 7.44 SEK

And if i am going to wait for the new systems as i have been recommended... it will take long time before it goes down to the prices that suits me :

What do you think of these products?
    http://www.fyndborsen.se/prod.php?nr=10626
    Price in USD: 609,50
    &
    http://www.fyndborsen.se/prod.php?nr=5613
    Price in USD: 298,25

The speaker package will be complimented with two big fronts, also proson ( http://se.pricerunner.com/sound-and-...158724/details )

I have a old Yamaha 1200 and a a pair of Mirage OM 10. The mirage are large speakers and they sound fine being powered by a 80 watt per channel reciever. Eventually I am going to upgrade to a outlaw or the yamaha 2500 or conrad johnsons
