Hey you A/V gurus....I need some help and quickly....I have a Yamaha HTR-5450 which I like.

However, I need a receiver with component switching and some more coaxial digital inputs....I would like to stay in the $400-$700 range, and my 30 day return is up today....any suggestions...also Pro-Logic II would be a nice upgrade...thanks!

step up to the 5460. It's awesome. Much better than the 5450 and 5440. It has component switching, more power, enough inputs for anyone(only 1 coax digital though, the rest are optical), but most important, it has a digital volume control. A non digital one(like yours) makes it impossible to set calibration and referrence levels.

I upgraded to the 5490 today and so far it's great! I notice a big difference in sound/power from the 5450....also, the component switching helped!! All is well!
