I've seen a bunch of people selling the driver from their SVS sub, and others who're buying them and putting them in their existing subs. I was wondering if it would even be worth trying to put an SVS driver in the PW-2200 enclosure.

David there's much more going against this idea then for it. Basically you're gambeling that the SVS driver parameters are aligned with the box and port choosen for the driver in the 2200...while it could work in all likelyhood it wouldn't be better then the 2200. If you really wanted to do better then the 2200 sell it and build sub tailored to your requirements. Besides the 2200 is no slouch even compared to an SVS (esp the older models whos driver you'd be using)

What Andrew said. The original SVS 12" will be very similar in displacement ability to the driver in the PW2200. And like Andrew said the enclosures of the two subs were designed for the parameters of the drivers. The PW2200 box is too small, tuned too high, and will have some boost and filter circuitry in the amp you won't want to use with the SVS driver.

If you want to take a major jump in performance through this route you'll want to move to a Tempest or Dayton DVC15" driver and build your own box.
