I want to upgrade my direct tv receiver. I want 5.1 output. Any suggestions? Also, do I need an oval dish to receive local channels?
    thanks,
    Mike

Get a Hughes HDVR2 TiVo DIRECTV receiver. It handles DD just great and it has TIVO. Or wait for the new HDTV unit due out in MArch.

A normal dish will get your local channels .

The list is here and it tells you the type of dish needed for local programming.
