    Greetings,

I am looking to upgrade from a Pioneer Elite VSX-39TX ( using as a pre/pro being driven by a Parasound 1205A ). I am looking in the $2000 to $3000 price range. The unit right now which has the feature set I am looking for is the B&K Reference 50. However there are some new units coming available which deserve consideration. They are:

    Fosgate FAPT 1 - $3k
    Adcom GTP-880 - supposedly around $2k
    ATI ATP7500 - $3K
Parasound C2 - have not heard much about it

Can anyone with any info comment? Can anyone with experience with the Ref. 50 comment? Any and all are appreciated.

    Ralph,

Rotel is coming out with the RSP-1098 I believe in March or April. This unit is also card based which will make simplify upgrading I assume. Check this site for more info:

It should about $3K too. I'm gonna wait for this to come out prior to pulling the trigger on an Anthem AVM 20.

    Hope this helps out some.

I would look into Aragon as well - high end sound for good value.

For just two channel, check out Audio Research preamps.

    Greetings,

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. I also understand that Parasound will be updating their " classic " line as well. I am curious as to where they will be priced. I would guess that there will be one in the $1K to $2K and one in the $2k to $3K markets. These will be in an effort to keep up with what is available and becoming available from other manufactuers.

    Ahhh the waiting game.
