Unused 12" dia sonotube. Cheap project ideas wanted. (1 Viewer)

Well I just ordered an AV15 so I have a while to decide on the type of enclosure and learn how to build it properly.

However, I have 4 feet of 12" dia sonotube laying around. I was thinking of maybe making a sealed sub for music in another room or even a small sub for the car or both I'd like to limit myself to $100 for the driver(s), since I've yet to buy an amp for the AV15.

Basically I'm trying to come up with a project to gain some experience before I build the AV15.

I was thinking something along the lines of a Dayton Quatro 8" but all ideas are welcome!

Make some columns for use as stands?

I don't know about subs, since you'd have to use a 10" driver, but then again, what do I know.

Perhaps one of those tube/pipe-speaker designs?
