I have a Pioneer DVD player that's a few years old that has a 96KHz/24 bit sound and 10 bit DAC video. I've seen some players advertised with 12 bit/108 MHz DAC. Is 12 bit , or 16, better then 10 bit and what is that 108 Hz all about? I understand the better picture quality with progressive scan component out but what about a S-video signal going from a 16 or 12 bit vs a 10 bit? A progressive scan signal? Is there any noticeable difference? What is the 108 Hz referring to? Looking to upgrade after I upgrade my TV to a progressive scan, HDTV compatible one.
