What are you using for a modem and router? If it is the cable supplied equipment, that could be causing the issue. Also, how many smart devices and streaming devices are in the home. I run well over 50 smart devices and with the old modem and router I would lose speed as time went by and all the devices started to bottle neck. I finally bought a Motorola SB8200 (DOCSIS 3.1 Modem) and a new Eero mesh network. Since then I have not had any issues.

Before you spend any money though, log in to the modem/router and check for any firmware updates.

Another thing to check: Check to see if your router has QOS (Quality of service). If it does, enable it and put the blurry at the top so the router gives the bulk of the channel speed to the bluray.

Thanks, Brian. I have a LinkSys WRT 1900 AC router and a E31T2V1 modem Spectrum gave me. We have no streaming except when we are lucky enough to get an Amazon Prime movie to work through our TV. I'm going to install an Arris modem tomorrow. Will see if I can give the bluray high priority at router.

Not a fan of the SB6190, you would be better off getting the SB6183 if you want a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. The 6183 runs the Broadcom chipset vs the Intel Puma 6 in the SB6190. The Intel chipset is buggy and had some issues.

I believe the E31T2V1 is already a DOCSIS 3.1 modem so you should be fine there. You would be moving backwards with the SB6190.

When you go back to Best Buy, see if they have an In Home Advisor in your area. They can come out to your home and test the network and offer up a solution that will get it going.
