Is there a list or web page devoted to films that were produced but never released. The most famous film I could think of was Roger Corman's Fantastic Four, but there must be others.

Before this upcoming Fantastic Four film, wasn't there a version made years ago but was never intended to be released (it was made to retain the movie rights)?

Entertainment Weekly did a great article a few months ago on unreleased and/or long unavailable movies, music and TV shows. It was called "Buried Treasure" in issue # 795, December 3, 2004. I have it right here in front of me, I won't transcribe it but I'll list the "Buried Treasures":

    Celine Dion's Phil Spector sessions.
    Johnny Depp's "The Brave"
Bob Dylan's lost film "Eat the Document"
Charlie Kaufman's TV pilot "Depressed Roomies"
    "Star Wars Holiday Special"
Funkadelic's "By Way of the Drum"
Alexander Payne's student film "The Passion of Martin"
    Stanley Kubrick's "Fear and Desire"
    Todd Haynes's "Superstar"
"Little Shop Of Horrors" DVD w/ original ending
Britney Spears sessions with Fred Durst
    Leonardo DiCaprio's "Don's Plum"
    Bruce Springsteen's "Prodigal Son"
    "Swamp Thing #88"
    Sheryl Crow's lost debut album
    Dennis Hopper's "The Last Movie"
    Lorne Michaels's "Nothing Lasts Forever"
    Patty Griffen's "Truth No. 2"
    Roger Corman's "Fantastic 4"
    Mike White's "Pasadena"
    Robert Frank's "Rolling Stones" documentary
"Chinese Democracy" by Guns n' Roses
"Heat Vision and Jack" with Jack Black
and the mother of all lost films:
Jerry Lewis's "The Day the Clown Cried".

I have this one (import), and I would LOVE to see it have a wide release on domestic DVD.

I've never seen Depp's film version of "The Brave" by the book by Gregory McDonald, the author of the "Fletch" series, is absolutely mind-blowing.

I seem to recall that this one was never actually finished - that they lost funding halfway through and stopped shooting.

Granted, the IMDB can be (and very often is) wrong, but supposedly there have been very limited festival screenings:

    http://imdb.com/title/tt0263265/

But, since even this very same IMDB entry notes that money ran out before post-production, are we to assume that it was an unfinished version of the film which the two posters claim to have seen?

I had read that the filming was done, but they ran out of money before post-production. Didn't Alec Baldwin say this would probably never be released?

I have this movie on DVD which is Region 2 I got from EBAY.
It has controversy with both Leonardo DiCaprio & Tobey Maguire who are both in it. This movie has a good young cast including up & coming actor Kevin Connolly from HBO's Entourage. I thought it was a pretty decent film that touched a few subjects.

Skidoo was released. I mean films not released in the theater OR video. The list of what hasn't come out on vide, period, is mighty long.
