I'll admit it, I got the bug this weekend to upgrade my phone (Asus Zenfone 2). Not sure why, but I had some Best Buy gift cards and decided to take the plunge after reading some glowing reviews of this awesome unlocked phone.

I'm not a fan of adding more $$$ to my already high cell phone bill so I skipped paying $600++ over 2 years for one of the "flagship" Android phones (no desire to go back to iphones) so I've been on the unlocked phone kick for a while now.

I must say that the ZTE Axon 7 is an amazing phone and it only cost me $350. It is chock full of features, many more than my Zenfone had, hence why I got the itch to switch up.

Here are a few features built in to this beast:

    • 64GB storage, expandable via SD card.
    • 4GB ram
    • Dual SIM
    • USB C
    • 3,250mAh battery with fast charge
    • Fingerprint reader/voice activation
    • Amazing bright AMOLED 5.5" display
    • Very little bloatware
    • Dolby Atmos via front facing stereo speakers that are amazing for their size.
    • Snapdragon 820 chip
    • Awesome 2 year warranty that includes USA tech support and drop protection etc.

Having used it for a couple of days, I can say, this equals or possible rivals my wife's S7 and IMO is a great flagship phone killer at a fraction of the price.

If you are an Android user and looking to avoid getting locked into 2 year overpriced phone payments, I suggest you check this one out. Highly recommended.

Just got the Nougat update. Very nice upgrade for an already stellar unlocked phone.

Forgot to add that the phone is now Daydream compatible, cheapest priced phone out there that offers this. One of only 5 that offer it. Pretty sweet deal if you are into VR stuff.

Is it 7.0 or 7.1.x? Did you receive security updates before the major OS update came along? It looks like a nice phone spec-wise but I am always concerned about getting timely updates.
