Still no sign of Schindler's List or new special editions of The Frightners or Scarface :frowning:

Let's hope the 4th quarter will be better.

I definitely think that the people in charge over at Universal are smoking some really heavy weed. They have no idea what the hell they have in their film library. They throw stuff out on the market that makes it seem like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel, yet they have so many great films in their library that they haven't released yet...unbelievable!

Paul, you should be shot multiple times for getting me (ever so briefly) hyped for a Kolchak box set!

A pox on thee!

I can't wait for Backbeat and the special edition of Mask, as well as Duel.

I maintain a master list of "unreleased" films over at DVD Talk which people have been suggesting titles for several years.

It is is interesting that Universal is releasing titles like "Hard to Hold" that have never even been suggested by die-hard DVD fans. (Sgt. Peppers and Gotcha! were already on the requested list.)

Universal's slate is sorely disappointing. Only two titles are sales, Universal token "movies for grown-ups" film titles, the Marlon Brando films: The Ugly American and Night Of The Following Day.

Jodee,

I sure hope that you (and Universal's website) are right about Backbeat being Anamorphic Widescreen! After watching The Beatles Anthology from beginning to end, I'm dying to get my hands on Backbeat.

Ha ha ha! Yeah, is Keith Richards working there now or something?! ;)

After such superb releases like FAHRENHEIT 451 and THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN, I was expecting some truly awesome 1-Disc and 2-Disc Special Editions of classic and contemporary films. Where are they? The next batch better not be as lacklustre as this...
