The listed schedule also included MOD releases, but I haven't seen any.

Haven't most of the MOD titles been released through TCM and not Amazon? There next collection should for August should be up for order soon. I have not seen any titles announced for the Amazon side of things except for those few last week.

The so-called "MOD" releases listed in the leaked schedule were the TCM Vault exclusive titles. I suppose they called them MOD out of confusion, or that they would eventually be incorporated in the MOD line.

Anyone been entering codes inside the 2012 releases to redeem "rewards"? I've gotten a few $3-off coupons which actually came in handy, but I just brought home two brand new sealed Blu-rays, logged into the rewards website, and was promptly told I had already redeemed a reward today -- when in fact it's been a good several weeks since the last one. Then I tried another email address, and got in. BUT... after entering the first code, was told that that coupon had already been used. Tried the second code, same thing.

Okay, no big whoop -- it's not like I expected to win the TV or the million bucks -- but GEEZ, Universal. Who programmed THIS sweepstakes?

Limited to two per computer for the year-long promotion.
Just for giggles, I tried printing two more some time after updating my (Mac) operating system, and it worked!

Two per computer for the year!!?

Well, that certainly explains it. But...wow.

I kind of wish we would see cleaned up versions of the three Flash Gordon serials on Blu. Unlikely, but I can hope.
And since Universal has the rights to so many Paramount titles, it would be nice if they could do a double promotion with Paramount, who is also celebrating their 100th. How about some Marx Brothers, Preston Sturges, Road movies, Alan Ladd, Veronica Lake, Maurice Chevalier, WC Fields, etc.
David
The Road Movies would be great on Blu. Not sure how much could be done with the Marx Brothers. I would love Ladd and Lake and W.C. Fields s on Blu or DVD. Personally, the biggest mystery to me is why Universal did not include any John Wayne titles in their 100th celebration, especially given that Universal owns a lot of them (especially Reap the Wild Wind, The Spoilers, The Train Robbers, Rooster Cogburn), and John Wayne titles are one of the biggest sellers in the classic market. Universal also has never released and rarely seen John Wayne titles from the mid-1930s that would make a good TCM release.

Not to taddle on myself... but the 2 "per computer" may be in doubt. I received my two in the initial wave back in January and two more recently that are set to expire end July. I have the feeling they are releasing in "waves" ... I just hope I have a viable one for the Jaws release.

According to the leaked list, which generally seems accurate (except for the bit about the silent classics), a 70th Anniversary bd of Holiday Inn was supposed to be out by now. Does anyone have an idea as to what is going on with that? thanks

Pretty low-rent 100th, wasn't it?

Yes. I guess it was naive of me to expect them to turn a corner in such a short time.

I believe this was a better year for them overall, including several extremely good releases.

I was quite pleased with:

To Kill A Mockingbird
All Quiet on the Western Front
Out of Africa
Pillow Talk
Jaws
Born on the Fourth of July
Harvey
6 out of 8 of the Universal Monsters Collection, including Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, The Wolfman
Several of the Hitchcocks in the set, including Saboteur, Shadow of a Doubt, The Trouble with Harry, Rear Window, Vertigo, The Birds, Topaz and Frenzy

So I wouldn't call it low-rent. I agree that several titles could have and should have been handled better, most particularly:

The Sting
The Man Who Knew Too Much
Marnie
Rope
Family Plot
Torn Curtain

And there were several catalogue releases that just got cursory treatment.

But to dismiss the entire year out of hand would be mistaken, in my opininon.

The sets you refer to are the Universal/TCM titles, a Marlene double feature (Scarlet Emperess and something), Women in Danger, 1930s Rarities (including Million Dollar Legs with W.C. Fields and the upcoming film noir set with the Blue Dahlia and two other films. Universal/TCM also released two Billy Wilder films including Five Graves to Cairo. See the TCM shop.
