I was bored today (new years eve) and decided to search for other animated Warner flipper titles. This is what I found, which is not exhaustive.

Not yet re-released as single-sided discs

    - Frekazoid season 1 (disc2 was a flipper)
    - Tiny Toon Adventures season 1 volume 1 (disc4 was a flipper)
    - SIlverhawks season 1 volume 1 (disc4 was a flipper)

    Re-released by Warner Archive

    - Birdman and The Galaxy Trio (both discs were flippers)
    - Space Ghost and DIno Boy (both discs were flippers)

Both of these ^ sets were re-released by WarnerArchive as 3-disc sets. (Not definitive as to whether these 3-disc sets are actually single-sided discs).

Re-released as Diamond Collection title in 2017

    - The Yogi Bear Show complete series (discs 3 and 4 were flippers)
    - Scooby Doo & Dynomutt Hour complete series (discs 3 and 4 were flippers)
    - Top Cat complete series (disc4 was a flipper)
    - Hong Kong Phooey complete series (disc2 was a flipper)
    - Josie and the Pussycats complete series (disc2 was a flipper)
    - The Huckleberry Hound Show volume 1 (disc4 was a flipper)
    - Scooby Doo Where Are You? season 3 (disc2 was a flipper)
    - The Flintstones seasons 1-6 (each season respectively had a disc4 flipper).

These Diamond Collection re-released versions are single-sided discs, which were largely reauthored without any of the previous special features of the older flipper sets.

I bought the DVD set of The Untouchables. Was surprised at the episode count per disc as well. Considered buying the blu-ray version at one point, but the show has a video master. I would think the blu would at least have a higher bit rate per episode. Considered the Diagnosis Murder blu too. Just don't watch it enough to warrant the (potential) upgrade.

According to the CBS syndication bible, the 1990s era revived Untouchables does not have any hd transfers.

    http://synbible.cbstvd.com/series/the_untouchables/untouchables_new.htm

Also seasons 1-6 of Diagnosis Murder does not have any hd transfers either.

    http://synbible.cbstvd.com/series/diagnosis_murder/diagnosis_murder.htm

So the bluray versions of Diagnosis Murder and the revived Untouchables are most likely dumb sd->hd upscales. Basically a complete waste of money and time.

One that really sticks in my craw is the Mary Tyler Moore Show (Season 2). Disc 3 in that season set is the ONLY flipper for that entire series!

As far as animated shows in my collection, Season 2 of Rocky & Bullwinkle & Friends consists of 4 flippers.

By "complete collection," I meant the four-episode/disk sets. "Complete Collection" is VEI's term for those, which generally include the extras, such as Cagney & Lacey "complete" having the press-Gless episodes and later movies, which the later budget set did not.

Are these Rocky & Bullwinkle discs DVD10 or DVD14/DVD18 type flippers?

The other double-sided flipper discs animation sets I have, were mostly old BCI Eclipse releases. (BCI Eclipse closed down almost a decade ago, where some of their animation titles were later licensed to Mill Creek).

As far as I can remember, most of the BCI Eclipse flipper discs sets I had were DVD10 type flippers. I don't think I ever had one which had DVD14 or DVD18 type flippers.

DVD10 flipper discs didn't have as many immediate problems as DVD14/DVD18 type flippers, but nevertheless they were still just as annoying.

Yes. VEI usually will sell the "higher quality" 4 episode per disc sets first with a new series. Then come out later with the lower disc count set at a later time. I assumed that since the 90's Untouchables was a two season series, they would only offer one version. Sad it had to be of lower quality. I have the Limited Cagney & Lacey complete set from VEI. All of my VEI purchases have been for the Limited Editions when offered.

On March 13, 2018, season 1 of Alfred Hitchcock Presents is being re-released as a six disc set.

    https://www.amazon.com/Alfred-Hitchcock-Presents-Season-One/dp/B07896QSFB/

Most likely it is just repressing the old double-sided flipper disc faces into six single-sided discs with some minor cosmetic changes (ie. changing the labels "disc1B" to disc2, "disc2B" to disc4, etc ...).

On March 27, 2018, the remaining season sets (ie. 2 to 6) of Emergency! are being individually re-released.

This individual re-released season 2 set is probably same re-released six single-sided discs set which came in the complete series set released back in 2016.

    https://www.amazon.com/Emergency-Season-Two-Kevin-Tighe/dp/B07896NHTJ/

Most likely the other re-released sets of seasons 3 to 6 are just a straight repackaging of the old discs, if Universal is being really lazy.

Thanks for the update! I never purchased S1 due to all the reported issues. I have enough other product I've fought to watch or actually get watchable copies that I got to where I refused to purchase Universal product if it was on flippies. This will be a first time purchase for me - and likely a first time viewing. I wasn't old enough to stay up and watch this one during its original run but do remember managing to sneak in parts of a few episodes on occasion.

The per order cost for season four is $26.67. it would be nice if this was the version that was on Netflix and Me TV before they were taken off. If not a person could just buy the complete series for $43.

    That's the first week/month price.

I wouldn't be surprised if these re-released sets end up tumbling to dump bin fodder prices within a year or so (ie. $10 a pop or less).

As to who would actually be buying these re-released sets, most likely it is somebody who is missing one or two of these season sets and they don't want to buy the same seasons again they already have. In this particular case of Emergency, there might be some customers who will buy these re-released season 1 or 2 sets since they are re-done as single-sided discs. (The original versions of seasons 1 and 2 were done as double-sided flipper discs, back in the mid-2000s).
