What's up with this release? It was announced a couple of years ago; the packaging has been on DVD sites for a long time and then...nothing. I heard a rumour that it was to have been released around the time HANNIBAL came out, but then that didn't pan out either.
I don't understand why this release has been post-poned as long as it has. If anyone has any clue as when we will see this in stores, please respond...

I'm looking at my pre-order status on Amazon.com and they're showing a shipping date of 2 Jan with a delivery date between 7-13 Jan. We'll see how this holds up (fingers crossed). $35.60 with tax, S & H. If you can find it somewhere else cheaper, good deal. Happy hunting!

The discs are completed and turned into Universal. If they are indeed shipping 2nd week of January, an announcement should be made by the end of next week.

Universal's Business-to-Business website has no information on this title yet. There have been no trade announcements, no studio pre-order solicitations (not the same as consumer pre-orders, and much more important), no advertising artwork, nothing since that early leak a few months ago. Their listings for January appear complete, so I would guess it's not coming until Spring.

I used to work for a distributor and release dates of December 31 or January 1 are used for titles that have been announced and then postponed with no new date. Trust me, when LEGEND finally comes out we will all know about it.

My guess it that the same thing holding up Back To The Future - I, II and III is also holding up Legend.
Over-seas distribution rights being reverted to Universal from Columbia at the end of the year.
You won't see or hear a peep from Universal about any release until after that time.
I think that Legend has always been more popular overall in Europe than in the States which means more sales there than here. And, I don't think that Universal wants to miss out on any of that - they certainly don't want to share if they don't have to.
