Is the standard Universal version of "Spartacus" available? Most retailers only list the Criterion version (expensive) and the Universal HD version

Which standard version is best?

Universal is returning to print all the titles they licensed out to Criterion on DVD -- including Spartacus -- in their previous, barebones incarnations.

The other titles include Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Brazil and one other whose name is escaping me. They are also re-releasing their previous barebones Dune (1984 version).

The Criterion disc is both letterboxed and anamorphic (enhanced for widescreen tv's). The Universal disc is just letterboxed.

For the record, the first DVD I purchased was Universal's barebones Spartacus in 1998. It is also the first disc I lost to DVD "rot" (or something).

I replaced it with Criterion's excellent SE. After buying a HDTV, I would have upgraded to Criterion's version anyway because it's anamorphic. If Universal is indeed reissuing the barebones version, I wonder if it'll be anamorphic this time?
