Well in Canada it's a different story.

Both Diana Krall recordings can be had for $15 CAD in the store, but the SACDs are $32.99 CAD.

At these prices, you can count SACD as a dead format in Canada.

Marc, circuitcity.com's prices are unusually low for these SACDs. In fact, they are priced the same or lower than the corresponding CDs. However, most other SACDs are considerably more expensive than the CDs.

Will circuitcity.com deliver to Canada? I know some US sites will.

Thanks Keith. I'm not much of a jazz fan but I too could not resist A Love Supreme in SACD at that price.

They also have the Hybrid SACD E.T. 20th Anniversary Soundtrack available for 13.99.

Surprisingly I saw the Natalie Cole Universal SACD at Best Buy yesterday in the DVD-A section. It was the only Universal SACD there, and was priced at 15.99, so buying from Circuit City still makes more sense.

Keith, thanks for the heads up. As you know, I normally don't buy both the Redbook and SACD versions of the same title, but for $12.99 for the Diana Krall "When I Look in Your Eyes", I could'nt resist. I also picked up the Coltrane, which is now on backorder. The free shipping is gravy!

    Awesome deals.

When I got my CC e-mail confirmation, the two titles I ordered were called LASER DISK on the invoice. Anyone else get this?

Evan, I got the same thing when I ordered the Alison Krauss New Favorite SACD from circuitcity.com.

    Even more deals...
Bruce Cockburn's Anything Anytime Anywhere (Singles 1979-2002) is $13.99, and Ryan Adams' Gold is $12.99.
The Simple Minds Best Of, on the other hand, comes in at a staggering $44.99. I know it's an import, but...ouch.
Currently browsing the classical section... [IMG]

David, I saw The Best of Simple Minds for $44.99 awhile back. I bought my copy at the Virgin Megastore in New York City for $33, and I believe Elusive Disc has it for around the same price. Also check www.superaudio-cd.com .

Is this online only or can you buy it at the store at this price too?

Daniel, I've had luck in the past price-matching their Web prices in store, but good luck finding a local store that has the SACD selection the Web site has. [IMG]

I don't know if this is a nationwide trend or not, but some of these Universal discs are finally showing up at the local stores, all priced at $14.99. I picked up the two Diana Krall albums (at different locations), and saw stock of the following, at minimum:

    - Bon Jovi, Bounce
    - Natalie Cole, Ask A Woman Who Knows
    - John Coltrane, A Love Supreme
    - Getz/Gilberto
    - O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack

I notice that the free shipping offer on the Web site has returned, but it might be worth checking your local store(s) for stock if you need an immediate fix. I rarely bother even walking by the SACD kiosk at Circuit City anymore, but seeing new stock at lower prices was a pleasant surprise.
