A "Bela Lugosi Collection" is coming in October, although it should be called a "Karloff/Lugosi" set.

    The Black Cat
    The Raven
    The Invisible Ray
    Black Friday
    Murders in the Rue Morgue

Those will be the five films included but there won't be any extras (except maybe trailers).

I can't wait for the Lugosi set! What Karloff films are left for a Karloff set? he seems pretty well represented on this one.

I'd like to see some sort of odd ball set with "Island Of Lost Souls" and "The Monster And The Girl" on it, or a 50's SCi-fi one with "The Incredible Shrinking Man"

    The Climax

    The Strange Door
    Tower of London

Those are the only Karloff film's I can think of. This box should be a Karloff/Lugosi set with MURDERS going on another Lugosi set since Universal still owns a few more of his films.

Interesting! I guess Island Of Lost souls could go on a second Lugosi set, as He plays one of the monsters, not really a staring role though. I can't be too upset that MURDERS is on this set though, I've been dying to see this for a long time, I could never find it locally. Isn't Karloff in "The Old Dark House"? Who owns the rights to that, I saw it on VHS, but it wasn't Universal who put it out.

Kino has put out a few Universal horror films including THE OLD DARK HOUSE. The DVD had a price reduction not too long ago and if you're a fan of classic horror then you should certainly pick it up. Plenty of nice extras and the print, while in rough shape, still looks better than any previous release.

I can't imagine why this has yet to make an appearance on DVD. It has been high atop my wish list for years!

There's also a little diddy from 1937 entitled Night Key which has never had a home video release.

Here is a list of Bela and Boris films I think Universal has rights to (although they may not for Phantom Creeps and One Body Too Many is PD, I think) and have not yet appeared on DVD. (I guess POSTAL INSPECTOR and PHANTOM CREEPS made it to DVD, via Alpha, but I am sure Universal holds superior materials.)

    Bela Lugosi:
    Island of Lost Souls
    Gift of Gab (with Karloff)
    Postal Inspector
    The Black Cat (1941)
    Night Monster
    One Body Too Many
    The Phantom Creeps

    Boris Karloff:
    Graft
The Cohens and Kellys in Hollywood
    Gift of Gab (with Lugosi)
    Night World
    Night Key
    Tower of London
    The Climax
    Unconquered
    Tap Roots
    The Strange Door
    The Black Castle
A&C Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
