    Dear Paramount Movies Customer,

In light of the upcoming UltraViolet closure, we are making changes to ParamountMovies.com.

Beginning today, while you will still be able to redeem U.S. digital codes included in your DVD, Blu-ray™, and 4K UltraHD™ Paramount products, you will no longer be able to rent, buy, or playback movies through ParamountMovies.com.

To continue to view the movies you have already purchased or redeemed through ParamountMovies.com, you will need to access them through partners like VUDU or FandangoNOW by following these steps:

·STEP 1: Confirm that your U.S. ParamountMovies.com account is linked to your UltraViolet account

·STEP 2: Link your ParamountMovies.com account to your UltraViolet account if it isn’t already

·STEP 3: Link your UltraViolet account to a participating retailer like VUDU or FandangoNOW to ensure your movies will be available for playback through their service(s)

For detailed instructions on each step, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions https://www.paramountmovies.com/#/support

The Sony Pictures Store closed a full month before UV announced they were shutting down. It would seem this has less to do with UV and more to do with the studios not seeing the benefit in keeping up individual digital stores...

This tell me that the closure of UltraViolet had an effect on Paramount movies and they felt the need to make adjustments because of it.

But not so bad that these morons won't tie in to MoviesAnywhere. Frustrating.

Paramount must have sent this to a UV mailing list, because I got it even though I never established an account on their site.

I always redeem my Paramount titles in Vudu anyway, in the hopes that Movies Anywhere will automatically detect them if Paramount finally joins up.

The interesting thing for me is the shared libraries that Ultraviolet allowed in its early days, and have been grandfathered into Vudu for older accounts. From what I've read, as long as the libraries are linked when Ultraviolet shuts down, all of the shared Ultraviolet titles will continue to show up in both libraries. New purchases made after the shutdown date, of course, won't be shared.

I've redeemed via Vudu some UV titles recently and they never show up in myuv.com account. So I think they have possibly stopped receiving any additions.

Fox stopped redeeming UV last July, Universal last September, and Warners in March.

Not much point in getting a UV redemption at this point though, is it?

Well I suppose at least redeeming will at least get you a digital copy in your Library .

Saw some odd transaction history on both Vudu and MA the last few days. It looks like titles from Warner Bros and redeemed on Vudu are getting re-transacted as full-on Vudu purchases (at no charge). Seasons 4 and 5 of Falling Skies and The LEGO Movie are showing up at the top of my transaction history on Vudu.

I am sure it's been discussed but now that UV is officially closed, any more conclusive word on when Paramount and MGM will join MA?

What will be interesting to see is if Viacom (Paramount) merges with CBS, possibly as soon as this week, if THAT has any change on the situation...

Not that reddit is anymore knowledgeable but, folks over there talk about the huge price to join MA for the studios. They say the financial trouble of MGM and Lionsgate probably keeps them out for a long time and Paramount isn’t much better off. The possible CBS merger might change thinks.

This is just what folks are saying on reddit, so take it with a grain of salt. Anyone know what it cost the studios to join MA?

Good question. Whatever it is Paramount at least should ante up.
