Hello everyonw and happy holidays!
I'm in the process of having a house built by a lake and would like to have a projector as a tv screen so that I can have it completely gone (the screen at least) when not in use so I can enjoy the large windows and the view they provide.
I am currently leaning towards UST projectors and have seen these complete setups built in a piece of furniture where the screen rises up form it and the projector either sits on top of or is concealed in a drawer that pulls out etc.. These are very nice but unfortunately, I cannot used then as they are usually around 100 inches long and I don't have that much space for a permanent piece of furniture.
I'm leaning more towards having the projector mounted on the ceiling and having a motorized screen dropping down from the ceiling.
I know that UST projectors need to have as straight of a screen as possible because image distortion is amplified by the angle at which the image gets projected. So, finally, my question: Is a tab tensioned projector screen good enough for a UST projector or am I asking for trouble?
I do have the space to put a normal/long throw projector but for various practicality reasons, I would prefer a UST.
Or maybe you guys have a better idea for me that I'm not aware of ?
