Sony UK have just announced Ultimate Editions of Platoon, The Magnificent Seven and Silence of the Lambs to be released in 2006. They have the same Ultimate Edition logo across the top of the sleeve as the recent Terminator re-issue with DTS so you never know...........

They were supposed to be releasing the Silence of the Lambs Ultimate Edition this year but its been delayed.
There is also a Rocky Ultimate Edition due out next week in UK. Unfortunately you have to buy it as part of a boxset with all 5 films, is a 6 disk set.

Seppo: Are they Finnish or English editions and do they have DTS tracks?

At least Raging Bull has a paper glued to the back cover that is in Finnish but it can be quite easily removed. Everything else is in English.

All of these Ultimate Editions feature DTS.

I picked up the Rocky Ultimate Edition Boxset during the week, I've done a quick skip through it all and I must say I'm very pleased with it [IMG]

It also contained a trailer for the new Platoon UE DVD, which I also can't wait for.

I'm not sure about upgrading on The Magnificent Seven though, the DVD I've got is already pretty damn good.

I've already got the R1 Raging Bull SE which doesn't have the DTS track but I don't think that the DTS will be all to different anyway.

Does anyone know the specs on The Magnificent Seven?because I agree with Dale that the current SE is pretty good.
Also much as I love DTS how much better could the 40+ year old score sound than the current good DD5.1?

I would think that any difference between the tracks would be minimal (that's if there were any difference at all).
