Thank you, Crawdaddy!

I just finished pre-ordering this set using the link you provided. Strange thing, when I got through the ordering it came in 10 pounds cheaper than the listed price on the page. Not that I'm complaining, mind you!

Amazon UK's listed price includes the VAT, which is dropped from non-UK orders.

I posted this news on the Indicator thread last week. It got lost in the shuffle.

I figured Crawdaddy would be al over this. I'm looking forward to it as well:)

Oh yeah! I had been hoping the Budd Boetticher DVD box would get a Blu-ray upgrade. Comanche Station is the only one that is already out on Blu (in Germany). Now I'm glad I hadn't gotten around to buying it as this is MUCH better!

Given that Indicator has released older transfers of some Columbia/Sony titles, I'll wait to see what this is - obviously only one of these maybe received the Crisp treatment IF he does his stuff at 2K - the others seem like they may be the same as the hi-def stuff they did years ago.

I do not think that Sony has already revisited one of these titles so these will probably be the old masters that first had been used to produce the DVD boxset. I find them satisfactory and at least filmlike but detail could be better.

I'll wait for the Crisp treatment. I do hope everyone understands that Twilight Time would be releasing these if they were new transfers by Mr. Crisp. Indicator released a bunch of Sony stuff with very old transfers - they all look okay, like Mickey One, but you can rest assured that when Mr. Crisp has his way with titles that the majority of them will come via Twilight Time first.

Yeah, I understand that as Nick answered my question about these titles in the Twilight Time thread.

Well you can call me a traitor, but I'll be happy just to get HD versions of the current masters that were used on the DVDs. But I understand that that won't be good enough for everyone.

I suspect they will be good enough for most of us. I don't want to wait for titles that may never be released otherwise.

Same here, I'm not getting any younger.

This may be lower quality by Sony standards but it is not like they are slapping an SD master on a disc so I would say go for it.
I would also buy if I had not already watched all but one of these in the last year and I already have the HD version of the remaining title ready to go.

Just a dumb question about ordering from Amazon UK... First time for me. Does it work the same as Amazon US and do I need to create a new account for the UK site? Also, what was the final price for US shipping for this set? One last question, does it make sense to just order direct from Indicator?

No....login to Amazon US like you normally do. Then, there is an option at the very bottom of the page to switch to the UK site. No Prime benefits, but the VAT tax will NOT be included in the final sale price since you're not a British taxpayer. All your account info (credit cards, etc) will be there just like the US site.

As for direct from Indicator, I believe shipping is higher. I've always went through Amazon UK.

Here's the current price, including shipping for the set (straight from Amazon UK):

tems:£49.99
Postage & Packing:£3.08
Total before VAT:£53.07
VAT:£0.00
Order Total:£53.07

That converts to $73.74 USD as of now, less than $15 a disc.
