Here's the list of the 70 UK Fox Studio Classics, some already release, some over the next few months. Most of these are repackaged from previous releases but there are a few new titles. And some titles already released in other european countries are missing form this list (from the top of my head, THE THREE FACES OF EVE, THE OX-BOW INCIDENT and MY DARLING CLEMENTINE)

Is the quality as good as the R1 Classics series? How about the subtitles? For example, some of the movies have swedish subtitles (The Grapes Of Wrath), some don´t. I have checked play.com, but they don´t list any subtitles at all. Does anyone know any site that does?

I was just about to order some of the R1 Classics, but if the R2UK has swedish subtitles, I will buy those instead.

Beware; Fox has not revealed any extras information whatsoever for any of these releases - even their own website remains coy! They appear to be mostly barebones, or cut down versions of the existing R1 FSC range.

In the case of the The Day The Earth Stood Still, it is apparently still missing the documentary of the R1 version, but the new packaging means that most etailers are charging £4-£5 more...for what amounts to little more than fancy new artwork.

The ones I have checked on the high street shops mention no extra features at all.

The subtitles vary a lot - for those which were already released (which seems to be the majority), my guess is that they have exactly the same subtiles.

I have 16 of those titles from previous releases, and I remember some having swedish subtitles. But most only have french, spanish, italian, german and english for hard of hearing. Some have "ghost tracks" for subtitles, which are there but don't seem to have anything there. Sendit.com has subtitle listing for the old releases.

As far as I can tell the only difference is in packaging, price and that the series is numbered, although why is beyond me.

I'll just wait until price drops to pick the ones I want.

Because - and Fox has admitted as much - the series is aimed at 'collectors' who will want a complete set.

Ok, so then it´s no real reason for buying R2UK. I guess I´ll pick up some with swedish subtitles.

imagine! FOX UK releasing a standalone of FANTASTIC VOYAGE-even thought they have the same double bill with VTTBOTS as we do A standalone of "Voyage to the...." will be out this Summer. Now, I wonder why THE EGYPTIAN is not on the list...

It would have been nice if they mentioned the subtitles available on each dvd ! The http://www.foxstudioclassics.co.uk website is rather thin on information about each dvd.
