From one of the Hollywood trade sites: Bingham Ray has been ousted as head of United Artists in another failed bid to revive MGM's sister studio. It seems that UA can't re-establish itself as a studio with the box-office failure it has had lately.

I believe I have the ultimate reason UA is failing...I can sum it up in two words...

    ...Lions Gate.

UA had a chance to get the top prize in all independent films..."Dogville". But along comes Lions Gate.

It seems that a "lion" has mauled someone United.

I'm sorry, I'm out of the loop. What does that mean? I know what Dogville is (I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I just bought the Japanese DVD, tired of waiting for it to be released in theaters) but I don't know the backstory of UA/Lions Gate/Dogville.
