I notice there is an MGM/UA and a Warner version. Are they the same disc, just re-licensed?

When MGM left Warner's distribution network they lost the rights to their pre-1986 work as they sold it to Turner. Identical disc, MGM version comes in a keepcase with a keen booklet

Warner had a SE in production in 2001, but someone pulled the plug on it. There is information on this at Spielberg's official(?) website (what's it called again?) - I'll try and get a link. The gist of it is that the "Who directed Poltergeist - Hooper or Spielberg?" debacle rages on, so any special features that may or may not have been produced that go into this have been deep-sixed.

I'm no expert on this, so maybe a Spielberg/Hooper aficianado can shed some light! [IMG]

I saw the snapper version (WB) of Poltergeist at Wal-Mart tonight in the 5.88 bin ... should I grab it?

At $5.88? OF COURSE YOU SHOULD! We may never get a better version.
