Quick question for you guys. It's an easy one. I want to get a surround sound receiver that can play the radio or my regular cd's in all 5 or six speakers. Am i looking for a dolby pro logic IIX receiver? Can all receivers do this?

    Alex,

You'll need at least PLII to get decent 5.1 from a stereo source. All current model receivers can do PLIIx but it's best to check before buying. Most receivers also do "all channel stereo" which send the L/R signal to all the L/R pairs

    Yup.

Any current AVR on the market will do this. The processing being used will vary. It's all a matter of taste at that point.
