q1 Does the denon 3802 have vmax (h/k 520) or something similar for surround sound from headphones? q2 Can an external amp, if wanted, be aplied to the 3802 for improved 2 channel listening with cd's and music in general?

q3 Would this amp be a good improvement?

Todd,

In regards to the 1st question, I am quite certain that the 3802 does not have a surround feature for headphones. If you check out the 5803(Denon website), you will notice that they emphasize this feature on that unit. I believe that there is a logo on the front of the 5803 that symbolizes this feature. As for your 2nd question, you should be able to use the pre-amp outputs on the back of your 3802 to add an external amp.
