I don’t really want the box of junk but I do really want the new bonus features.
I had completely forgotten this was even a thing, and to my surprise, Santa brought me a copy...

...which is going right back to Amazon. Don’t get me wrong, I’m super excited for the two entirely new bonus discs and one day I’ll be able to enjoy the UHD sampler disc included. But the packaging design clearly does not take things like practical reality, gravity and shipping into account, and while the outside was pristine, the inside was a mess. It’s two fold-out packs of discs and a box of art cards that only take up a small fraction of the space, anchored to one side of the package with the flimsiest bit of card stock and velcro, with a heavy plastic shelf tag thing with Cooper and Laura that was flying around in the box, and a plastic bubble protector that wasn’t up to the task of holding everything in place.

It’s clearly one of these things where the designers just never took into account that the sets would not spend the entirety of their lives being held upright and perfectly still.

I really don’t know how this stuff makes it out of the drafting stage. As someone who used to work on physical media releases, I find the lack of thought to be disappointing.

But I really want those bonus features so I’ll try again.

(now that I think about it, my 2014 box set also arrived damaged.)
