Anybody pick this up yet? How's the quality?

They apparently way underestimated demand, or had manufacturing issues, because even though it's technically out now and review copies made it to some people, that's about it.

I preordered it on Amazon when the preorders first became available, and it didn't ship. I spoke to customer service and they promised I'd have it by the 15th; I then got a follow-up email saying it was now expected on the 21st. Neither my local Best Buy nor my local Barnes & Noble show them as being in stock in stores, and they are not taking online orders for it either (or weren't as of last night).

I'm not exactly a happy camper as I had time set aside this week for it, and won't have time when it does actually come, but what choice do I have?

You'll

just

have

to

wait for

something to

happen.

Anything
to
happen.

Well,
maybe
next week

something
will
happen.

or
not.

I got mine at Best Buy and they had a total of two copies on Tuesday morning. Unless everyone ordered at the last minute (and I doubt that's what happened), it's ridiculous that Amazon can't meet the demand.

I'm trying to find a copy of the DVD for a friend as a Christmas gift but I haven't heard of anyone finding that.

I checked Best Buy last night and it said "No copies in any stores within 250 miles of your location" so that was that for me.

I wanted to gift a copy of this to my mother, and I preordered a copy for her a few weeks after my original order. When I preordered that, they couldn't promise me a delivery date, and still haven't. So it seems that they knew weeks before street date that they weren't getting it on time or not getting enough.

My local Barnes & Noble has it in stock, but they want $76 for it.
Maybe they didn't put a sale sticker on it because if you look up the DVD set, it's listed as $44.09 (30% off) in store. I'd think if the DVD was on sale then the Blu-ray would be too.

If you go to B&N's site and check the store availability, you should be able to see the in-store price.

The website price is $61.04, but it's out of stock online. The "Store Price: $75.99".

Weird. Since the DVD is on sale there, I would have thought that the Blu-ray would be on sale too but I guess that makes some sense since DVD still probably outsells most Blu-ray titles. However, I'd imagine with the Twin Peaks fanbase, the Blu-ray is going to vastly outsell the DVD.

I ordered the DVD set (as a gift) from Barnes And Noble today and with the 30% off sale price, my 10% off member discount and another 25% off coupon* (good through December 10), I got it for $31.55(!). I had to get it shipped to my house (which is free with the membership) but it's in-stock at their warehouse so I should get it in a few days. Long story short, if anyone is looking for the DVD set, B&N is definitely a good option.

How's this one...

Went in a Best Buy on the way home today. No copies on the shelf, couldn't find anyone to ask, had frozen stuff in the car, left.

Came home, ordered it through the website, and it promises me I can pick it up in that exact same store today.

We'll see.

However, those "in stock" things on the websites aren't always trustworthy. The Target website told me on Tuesday morning that there were no copies of S18 of The Simpsons within a 50 mile radius. So I take a chance, go to the nearest Target, and I'm walking out with a copy of the set within five minutes.

I'd wanted to inspect the copy I bought, so I didn't pre-order this. Bummed that it seemed to be sold out even before all the pre-orders had been filled, I took a couple of hints about it being found at some Best Buy stores to heart, and went over to mine today, obviously a couple of days late if I'd hoped to catch an early one. Well, they had ONE in the slot on the rack. Which fortunately seemed to be in perfect condition. And guess where it is now. :)

FYI, my store is some 75 miles from Manhattan.

I didn't even bother to check online first. For one thing, the store is ten minutes away and I was going out anyway. And I find online store inventory reports to be very hit and miss.

Yeah, I'm not willing to chance it at Best Buy -- yesterday it was showing sold out in stores. Today, it says that there's limited stock remaining at the Union Square NYC store. However, I've been burned many, many times trying to pick up things at that store that their website swore was in stock that wasn't actually at the store at all. It's just not worth a trip 45 minutes out of my way for something that is likely not actually there.

We have about 6-8 Best Buys around the Denver area, and when my Amazon preorder fell through due to the out-of-stock fiasco, I sped to one Tues night on the other side of town since the two near me were out. Fortunately, I was able to snag one!

The nearly-5 hour documentary is a treasure for Lynch fans or movie/tv fans in general. I’m almost finished with it. Seeing Lynch knee-deep in his directing process is something amazing to behold, fly-on-the-wall type stuff!

Amazon changed my date from 12/21 to 12/15, so that's a step in the right direction. I have Star Wars to rewatch between now and then anyway.
