Hi Guys, thanks for all the help on my last post. I have one qucik question concerning tweeter mounting. I know that flush mounting of a tweeter is much more beneficial than face mounting, but I was wondering if horn mounting a tweeter will add to the tweeter's performance. When i say horn mounting, I mean moutning the tweeter in a depressed cavity in the baffle so that the curve of the depression kind of acts and looks like a "horn," all the while getting rid of some of the time delay due to the difference in the tweeter and woofer center axis. For an example of this tweeter mounting method, take a look at the Amphion Argon and other Argon speakers here

    Thanks

I would advise against it. When a horn tweeter is designed, the dimensions of the horn are precisely tuned for that specific tweeter. It may mess up the frequency response. But it never hurts to experement alittle with some scrap wood.
