I have a 36" flat 100HZ CRT Panny. I also have an Xbox.

What I don't want is burnt-in 'shadows' from where I've been playing video games from some of the static images displayed on computer games...

There is a warning on my Panny instruction manual saying that they will not be held responsible if this was to happen... also on the Xbox, it warns that this can happen on 'some types of televisions (usually rear or front projected ones)'

So, am I right in thinking that it should be fine to use my CRT TV with my Xbox for a few (10 say) hours a week, and not have to worry about shadows??

Can anyone offer shed any light and rest my mind??

    Cheers
    Phil

Yes, you will be fine. Make sure your brightness and especially contrast are not cranked up high like they are in the showrooms. Direct view tv's are pretty hard to "burn in" unless you are leaving the same image on for a long time. Enjoy your games and don't worry about the tv.
