I heard somewhere that video games will burn images into projection screen tvs. Is this so, and if so, will video games burn images into the new HDTVs as well as the new plasma screen TVs?

The dangerous areas of videogames are any static images such as power-bars or menu items that remain stationary on the screen for long periods of play-time. 3D games nowadays are having less and less of these stationary menu items, but they are still there.
I'd think that if the TV is properly calibrated then you run no more risk of burn-in playing games then you do watching a sporting event. Just don't overdue it and play the game for hours upon hours upon hours.
