This is a problem I have not been able to solve for a long time. I just noticed that the reason I wasn't getting stereo sound from my VCR, which I don't use often, is because I only had it connected via the RF jack. The reason being that whenever I connect the VCR line out to my reciever in any way the speakers on the TV produce an audible buzz even when the reciever and VCR are turned off. What would cause this? I can't hear the buzzing when the volume is turned up but when it's down low it is quite annoying. Disconnecting the VCR from the reciever stops the buzzing immediately. Appearently my VCR is the exception to the rule I have heard (most if not all VCR's do not record stereo from the RF input). Mine does and I prefer watching the few TV shows I record in stereo but this problem has prevented me from hooking it up permanently. Everything is plugged into the same surge suppressor. Any suggestions?
