I just got a Hauppauge TV card, and the quality is a lot worse than when watching on my regular TV. Is it because the computer monitor has much higher resolution than a conventional TV set, that normal programming looks good on the TV but bad on the computer monitor?

    Thanks!

That is part of it. Does dscaler work with that card? It would clean up the image quite a bit.

An NTSC signal (regular TV) looks like crap on a computer monitor which is actually a high definition progressive display... garbage in, garbage out.

I hear some of the descalers (de-interlacers) help, but standard TV broadcast resolution is by far inferior to pc resolution.
