TV problem.....need advice (1 Viewer)

My girlfriend's TV turns itself off after you turn it on. It stays on for about 15 seconds and then shuts off. It is a Symphonic brand TV, and I have tried convincing her to just get rid of the piece of crap, but she won't, so does anybody have any idea why this may be. Any assistence would be greatly appreciated.

If the power supply is on the fritz, you might point out that it would more costly to fix than to simply get a newer, better unit by a respected manufacturer.
