Now Mill Creek is going dvd-mod too !
I have a Mill Creek MOD. Screen Directors Playhouse the complete series.
I always thought that once the bottom feeders like Mill Creek, Echo Bridge, and/or VEI start going dvd-mod (or bluray-mod), it is "game over".
The release of "Deadline" is intriguing. Says the footage was recently rediscovered in a garage. I have never heard of this show but it sounds like something I would like.
William, what is the quality like on that release? I really want to pick it up, but it seems kind of pricey for a Mill Creek DVD, especially one that is burned.
Quality is ok. Some episodes have Kodak billbords at the beginning and end. I haven't seen all the episodes yet. Probably finish sometime next year. There is a Christmas episode that I will be watching in December. Tom and Jerry.
Sadly , I agree.
Charmed Season 3 on Blu-ray (MOD) will release at Spring 2020 with the original music. The discs of Season 2 on Blu-ray changed from Burned to Pressed, because Burned BD-R discs don't play in gaming consoles and some Blu-ray players have playback issues either. MovieZyng have the new discs of season 2
I saw that, and will be looking into getting real discs for S2.
And I'm glad the show did well enough to come back to pressed. Or even to continue being released, honestly. Even with MoD, you never know.
Burned Blu-Ray's will play in PS4's and PS3's. It's only the Xbox One that doesn't support the format.
Hopefully Xbox Next (We're still waiting for an official release name) and the Playstation 5 next year will both support BD-R playback.
Gunsmoke Seasons 18 & 19, The Rifleman Anniversary Edition, Matclock, Looney Tunes and MORE:
I have all 9 seasons of Matlock. But one thing I would like to see is a set of all of the 2 part episodes put together and released as TV movies. Hallmark movie channel used to show them and I enjoyed them.
also, I’ll need to check out Washington behind closed doors. Sounds like an interesting series
This was an excellent and long-forgotten miniseries that ABC burned off just prior to the start of the 1977-78 season. It was released in 2012 by Acorn Media and I remember reading somewhere an (unverified) report that it had been edited. Hopefully, this release will be complete.
Looks like Gunsmoke is getting close to being finished. Hope Bonanza gets the same love. That, and the Beverly Hillbillies.
The Acorn DVD release also replaces the original 1970s Paramount Television logo.
Did Gunsmoke get 4 or 5 seasons done in 2019?
If so, that is impressive coming from CBS/Paramount.
Looks like it had 4 in total in 2019
Did I miss something on The Beverly Hillbillies? Yes, I'm happy for Gunsmoke and will eventually pick it up since it looks like it will be completed as it's one of my favorite Westerns. Come on, CBS, the stalling game on the Clampetts is beyond ridiculous. There is no music to clear except for one Pat Boone song and Mike Minor singing ONE song in S7. Those are both available unedited already on the Columbia House VHS sets. One of the top rated sitcoms of all time. If you're not going to finish it, farm it out to Shout! Factory or another company. I really don't care if it's remastered for hi-def as long as the episodes are unedited. Completely and utterly ridiculous how this classic show is being treated.
