I just got a Denon 2802 receiver and Panasonic RP91 DVD player, and HTD speakers. A Toshiba HDTV is in the works. My question - Does it matter if I use component cables to attach the DVD directly to the TV? Or am I better off buying a 2nd set to go DVD > receiver > TV? Of course for the DVD, this means a 2nd set of expensive cables.
Same with the S-video off the DIrecTv box. I think I could go directly to the TV or is Sat box > receiver > tv better.

Cable runs from the source to the TV are best because there are fewer chances of anything going wrong, and you only have one set of cables for each to deal with.

    Doug,
I agree with Glenn. The only time you would run it to your receiver, in my opinion, is if you have multiple sources you want to switch via the receiver.
